VK, Norilsk Nickel agree to teamwork in metallurgy IT solutions
ST. PETERSBURG, Jun 14 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Internet company VK and metals giant Norilsk Nickel on Wednesday agreed to cooperate in development of IT solutions.
“Digitalization for the metallurgical industry and Norilsk Nickel, in particular, has become an integral part of the key business processes since long ago. Norilsk Nickel digitized a great deal of operations from office to mining planning and metallurgical production, logistics and sales,” Dmitry Pristanskov, vice president for GR at Norilsk Nickel, said.
“After the retreat of foreign suppliers of IT solutions, we reassembled our digital landscape and continue to work actively in this direction,” he added.
Under the agreement, the companies will cooperate in cloud computing and virtualization of IT infrastructure, development of multi-functional platforms and portals, management tools of big data and artificial intelligence technologies.
